"Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen." - Ephesians 3:20-21
God has been at work here at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, and we believe the best is yet to come! We invite you to Imagine More for our community and for the life of your One!
The Imagine More Initiative will support the mission of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in three key areas:
Who is your One?
My One is about building individual relationships with non-believers and non-church goers, loving them, praying for them, and inviting them into a relationship with Jesus. Your One is not a spiritual project, but rather a friend in whom you invest time and energy. As followers of Jesus, we are called to go and make disciples. Having a One is an intentional step to building relationships where we can share the love of Jesus. The first aspect of Imagine More is to identify and engage your One – committing to pray for and do life with them!
Making St. Thomas Lutheran Church a Place for Our Ones
Your One will give St. Thomas an opportunity because of their relationships with you, but they will decide to stay because of their experience of St. Thomas. That begins when they research us online or watch a live-streamed service. It continues with the parking lot, exterior signage, and our interior spaces, how they are greeted and welcomed, whether they find a friendly and safe place to drop off their children, or an inviting space to share coffee and fellowship.
Will they wander around trying to decide which door to enter or how to find the coffee? Is there signage both outside and inside our building so guests can easily find their way around St. Thomas? We want to make St. Thomas a welcoming place for your One.
We will address our most pressing facilities and financial needs for now and for the next generation with funds raised through the Imagine More initiative. We will tithe 10% of all gifts to the Imagine More initiative to Lutheran Family Services’ Dana Village. The total Imagine More initiative goal, including the tithe, is $1,125,000.
Our identified facility and financial needs include the following: sound and lighting improvements in the Sanctuary; stage lighting, platform lighting, and sound improvements in the Community Life Center; parking lot improvements; signage, painting, and carpet throughout building; hospitality area; chairs in the Community Life Center; debt elimination; flooring and altar improvements in the Sanctuary; and campaign, community events, and consultant costs.
Further, we strive to be a debt-free congregation. By eliminating our debt, we free up future ministry dollars for greater ministry investment and impact.
Tithe Supporting Lutheran Family Services’ Dana Village
At the core of who we are, St. Thomas is committed to serving those outside of our walls. We have a rich legacy of community impact and are longtime supporters of Lutheran Family Services. Through the Imagine More initiative, St. Thomas is committed to tithing ten percent of all amounts received to support Dana Village, a housing and services complex that is being developed by Lutheran Family Services to provide housing and job skills for young adults who have aged out of the foster care system, as well as for low-income elderly.
