All volunteer positions for the March 23 meal have been filled.

The STLC Outreach Ministry invites the congregation to serve outside our church family by providing and serving meals to the residents of Dana Village in Blair, NE.

  • The meals are a monthly event on either the last Monday or Tuesday of each month. Days/dates may vary depending on what Dana Village needs.
  • In addition to providing and serving the meal, volunteers will also be engaging with the residents, talking with them about their well-being, employment, schooling, and other topics that may bring opportunity to provide guidance and support.

Our next Dana Village Meal will be held:

What is Dana Village? Lutheran Family Services (LFS), one of Nebraska’s largest human care organizations, has launched a 10-year strategic plan for the former Dana College Campus. Dana Village provides holistic support, including attainable housing, for young people aging out of the foster care system. Other populations, such as low-income elderly, are also able to apply to live in the community. Dana Village is a destination of hope and community and could very well become a new national model for what to do with a closed college campus thanks to this new concept.

  • Turn an abandoned college campus into a future of hope for young people aging out of foster care.
  • Give them what they need – job training, therapy, financial independence – to become solvent, productive citizens.
  • Create a community of support on a beloved campus – reactivating its mission: to educate, inspire, and set young people on solid footing.
