Youth Mission Events of Friday-Saturday (7/10-7/11)
Good news! We had an uneventful drive to the Super 8 by Wyndham in Reedsburg, WS and being next to McDonald's was a bonus, as well as being across the street from the Dollar General and Verizon. Everyone was able to find the items they left behind, at least the most immediate ones.
Our teens are wonderful. I understand a couple of the vans were quiet, but that will change throughout the week as we build community together. Friday evening was a time for games, music, and a couple of dances in the parking lot. I gave the adults who drove all day an opportunity to retire early, but they came out to play too!
Everyone went to bed at 11pm (at least they were in their rooms) and were ready to head to Noah's Water Park at 9am! It was a wonderful day to build more community while slipping and sliding and a foam party. That was a blast! The first of the four youth who were to meet us in Wisconsin arrived as planned, and our community enveloped her in welcome. I'm so proud of our youth- they do community well!
We were exhausted from the day in the sun and took our sunburns back to the hotel and I didn't have to say a thing about going to bed by 11pm.
