During the heart of COVID, there was a meme circulating about tacos that I just absolutely love:
“It’s okay to fall apart sometimes…tacos do, and we still love them!”
This week has been all about worry. Just as tacos fall apart despite our best effort to hold them together, worry has a way of happening, no matter what happy tune we try to hum. Try as we may, anxiety has a way of creeping in and causing us to fall apart. But, just like when a taco falls apart, we pick up a fork and scoop up the fallen pieces, when worry strikes, that doesn’t have to be the end of our story! Even when we struggle to keep it together, we are held in God’s love!
Once again, I would like to share a song with you that has gotten me through many trials and tribulations—when everything seemed to be crumbling around me and I wasn’t sure I could keep it together—this song gave me the encouragement I needed to keep going. I hope that it will also speak to you and give you the courage you need to lean in to God’s love and care, and allow him to pick you up—even if it is piece by piece or shred by shred. Click here to listen to the song.
Let us pray:
Faithful God, when life seems to get the best of us, when our strength faulters, and we find ourselves crumbling under the weight of worry, remind us that hope is never lost. There is never a point in time when we are too far gone. Nor is there ever a time when you will give up on us. Remind us that we will be okay. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
