At St. Thomas, in collaboration with pastors, I help plan worship, select music, direct adult and children’s choirs, handbells, and coordinate our contemporary praise teams and brass. I also coordinate special music worship services at Christmas time and during Lent. I also serve as adjunct professor for the Collegiate Choir at Doane University in Crete, NE. I am active as a choral director, tenor soloist, and composer. I have worship and choral music published primarily through MusicSpoke publishing.
I have worked extensively with professional, community, church, and youth choirs large and small in Nebraska. Minnesota, Indiana, Florida, and in the Baltics. For 9 years I was the coordinator for the Omaha Rings! Handbell Festival and have worked with area choir directors to plan the Nebraska Choral Directors’ Association Church Choir Festival. For 9 seasons I was the Artistic Choral Director of the Lincoln Choral Artists in Lincoln, NE. I have taught private voice and piano lessons for Sing Omaha Studios. I have taught K-12 music in both public and private schools in Minnesota and Indiana.
I completed a Master of Sacred Music in choral conducting from Luther Seminary/ St. Olaf College, a Master of Music in choral conducting from Butler University in Indianapolis, IN, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in music education from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.
Outside of the church, I enjoy riding my Harley-Davidson motorcycle with my beautiful wife Hillary. We have 2 cats named Romulus (Rommy) and Remus (Remmy) and we enjoy living in the Historic Dundee Neighborhood in Omaha.
