Good Friday Worship
Friday, April 3, 7:00 pm
Community Life Center (Livestream will be available on our YouTube channel.)
About Good Friday:
We commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Calvary. We use the Tenebrae worship format which includes music and readings from scripture, extinguishing a candle after each reading. The Christ candle is removed from the worship space and a concluding “Strepitus” or loud noise (slamming shut the Lectionary book) symbolizes the closing of the tomb, leaving us to ponder the sacrifice he made for us. This service is moving and drives home the reason for Easter.
